The objectives for this assignment are to: (a) think critically the application of concepts of health communication, (b) find ways to answer your own questions

One of the most exciting aspects of the field of health is that it is continually evolving. This project is designed to explore some of those innovations and extend our understanding of the field of health communication.

First: For the final paper students will identify a question they have regarding some aspect of health communication; e.g. the development of the patient-provider relationship, an issue of community health, or the effectiveness of health campaigns.

Question Development: In this process you might choose to examine the health of a particular community (e.g. Latin community, Third Ward, Suburban, etc.) in Houston or Houston as a whole. Consider health priorities for yourself and your neighbors.

I want you to begin to apply what you have learned in class about health communication and reflect on yourself and your community. What concepts related to health communication do you encounter on a daily or weekly basis? Think broadly about your daily interactions that are specific to your health experience.
Then: Once you have chosen your research question begin researching your topic by reading scholarly articles (see Library Resources) that help to extend the knowledge presented in our text about your chosen topic. You should find at least three additional scholarly articles that provide new depth on your chosen topic. Always make sure to check the validity of your sources. Below is a list of trusted sources.
