REQUIRED Book Requirements Your book should be designed to teach something for a K-12 class of students with disabilities (e.g., the states of matter, types of penguins, etc). Eight Instructional Pages: Your book must be at least 8 instructional pages (not counting the cover page, objectives page, or activity or answer key pages). These are the pages that teach the content. Do not use all capital letters for your text. It is hard to read online and it doesn’t represent correct writing for our students. Cover page (required) and objectives page (Required). The cover page should include the title of the lesson and your name as the teacher. The objectives page should include several special learning goals, e.g., To identify the three branches of the government and their functions. Two Pages where Students Must Make a Response: Students learn best when they are actively involved in instruction. So, your book must include at least 2 pages where they are required to make some type of response such as oral response, write responses on a piece of paper, etc. Note that they will not be able to respond directly to the book. You just need to occasion the responses. You should provide an answer key via a voice note or another page. The answer key does NOT count as one of your content pages. Record Voice: You must record your voice (or a child’s voice) recorded on all the pages. Be sure to move the microphone symbol on the side and not in the middle of the page on the images. Canvas Submission: You are to submit through Canvas a brief description (just about 3 or 4 sentences) of your digital book. You will need to follow the directions that allow me to view your book that must be included. Providing Me Access: Be sure that you have your book saved. The book must be in a Book Creator library. Then you can get the code to post in Canvas. See the end of the video I created in Book Creator resources to learn how to do this. I can join your library with the code. Also, submit your Book Creator username and password in case I have issues accessing your book. I need you to do both: Post the book code and your Bookcreator site username and password in case there is an issue with your code.
