Part 1 – 15 points
This assignment has 2 parts: the short biography and the short summary of the attached
article.

(5 points) Read about your assigned “famous economist” and then write a short summary
(in your own words) about the famous economist (bio, etc.) and what types of research they
do. Post this in this discussions forum.
Be prepared to introduce your famous economist (in an “elevator pitch”) in class on 2/6/25.
(5 points) Find an article (use tools at Bobst) that your economist has written (alone, or with
others) and post a PDF file of that article in this same discussions forum.
(5 points) In the post (not as an attachment) write a short summary about the subject of the
paper. Note: this is NOT the same as Part 2 (that you will post in the Assignments tab) – see
the directions there).
Be very clear, and cite appropriately – including any use of AI.
Part 2 – 40 points
Write a short summary (in your own words) about the article and its conclusions. Submit it
in the assignments tab.
(20 points) Write a short summary (1-3 paragraphs) that explains the objectives/goals of the
article (likely in the introduction and abstract); and,
(20 points) Write a short summary (1-3 paragraphs) to explain the conclusions of the
article.
