Part 1: Creating a Plan
Developing a vision and mission is never easy and having specific protocols in place to guide the process is essential. Using the topic Resources and your own research, create an action plan for developing your school mission and vision. (Your choice of vision is fine) The plan should include the following:
List all school community stakeholders that will be included in the group.
Identify specific questions you will ask stakeholders to address related to equity, diversity, social justice, community, character education, data use, technology, and digital citizenship, and to learn more about their values and priorities. Explain how the responses to these questions will be analyzed and used to inform the development of the school’s mission and vision.
Create a flow chart that outlines the protocols/processes you will follow to collaborate with stakeholders to create a shared vision and mission for the school.
Part 2: Communicating with Stakeholders (create 2-3 pages of content for me to read in the video)
Create a 2-3 minute video with the school community stakeholders as the target audience. The goal of the video is to advocate for a shared school vision and mission that will support the educational success and well-being of all stakeholders and to articulate the processes that will be used to formulate the vision and mission. The video should address the following:
Explain why you are seeking stakeholder assistance in formulating a shared school mission and vision based on the core values and priorities of school community stakeholders and in pursuit of human flourishing.
Describe how understanding stakeholder values related to equity, diversity, social justice, community, and character education supports the educational success and well-being of all stakeholders.
Discuss why gaining an understanding of stakeholder values and priorities related to data use, technology, and digital citizenship is important when formulating the school vision and mission.
Showcase the flow chart that outlines the protocols and processes that will be followed to formulate the vision and mission and explain why these protocols and processes are considered best practices for collaboration. Explain how taking these steps promotes positive school ethos by creating equitable opportunities and fostering a supportive environment to nurture relationships among school community stakeholders.
