This case study was based on real public health initiatives; therefore, your engagement in this discussion will help you hone workforce-related skills for public health practice.
For your initial post, you will develop a fact sheet that advocates for policies and programs to improve the health of a diverse population. Imagine that you are a public health program manager collaborating with legislators on policy to address the public health concern within this case study. In a recent meeting with legislators, it was clear that they may need a quick reference on the facts related to this issue. You are tasked with developing a one-page fact sheet for distribution to members of a U.S. congressional subcommittee (which approves funding for your public health programs). Use Microsoft Word to create this fact sheet. Attach your fact sheet to your main post.
In the fact sheet, you will focus on health equity and social determinants as the content used for advocacy purposes. Please make certain that your fact sheet contains all of the following:
Public health concern: Briefly summarize the public health concern.
Structural bias, social inequities, and racism: Explain the systematic discrimination that may contribute to the public health concern.
