Reviewer #1: This paper presents the valorization of waste
lubrificating oils as a potential source of base oil. I regret to
inform you that I am opposed to the publication of this manuscript in
Process Safety and Environmental Protection. The manuscript is poorly
prepared, and the novelty and significance of this study have yet to
be discovered. More specific comments are provided below,
1. Several typos (e.g. in the title) must be corrected and the English
needs to be improved and proofread by a native speaker.
2. The manuscript should be revised to make it more accessible to the
readers in scientific community.
3. The introduction can be improved by providing more background
research and comparisons with previous studies/other techniques. Here
are some examples of previous well-written manuscripts from other
techniques that may be useful in comparing the present results, such
as ‘Microwave-assisted pyrolysis with chemical activation, an
innovative method to convert orange peel into filter with improved
properties as dye adsorbent’, ‘Engineered biochar via microwave CO2
and steam pyrolysis to treat carcinogenic Congo red dye’, ‘Highly
efficient adsorption of dyes by biochar derived from
pigments-extracted macroalgae pyrolyzed at different temperature’
4. There is a need for greater in-depth explanation and justification,
especially in the discussion section
