This week’s writing assignment: You are one of Alexander’s soldiers present at the mutiny at Opis, 324 BCE. Please write a journal entry (diary entry) in which you explain your actions during the mutiny. You may choose to agree with your fellow soldiers who failed to follow their orders, or you may choose to disagree with them. Since this is a private journal entry you may be as candid as you like in giving your rationale.
In writing your entry you may wish to discuss your history with the campaign, the immediate circumstances surrounding the event, and your beliefs about the prospects for the campaign based on your experiences. You don’t have to attempt a penetrating psycho-analysis of Macedonian phalangite, however you should give some specific reasons for your actions based on what you know about the campaign. The assignment should be between 500-600 words. Write your proposal on a word document and submit it to Canvas by 5 PM Saturday, August 13th. Please use Times New Roman 12 point font, and double space the lines of your document. The late policy discussed in the syllabus applies.
